What is the course? Looking at their website a link wasn’t easily visible. What is the latest start list? If fans spread out along the course, does that keep us safe as under 25 people for an outdoor gathering by regulation? And is it still a “gathering” if we’re spread out over multiple km’s?
Melanie Myrand is going for the Olympic Standard (although it won’t count, I guess). It would be fun to watch her get after it. Hopefully she has a pacer late into the race. 2:29:30 is very fast but I don’t think Myrand would overestimate her fitness. Also, Elissa Legault could have a sub-2:40 day, recently ran 34:mid in the 10k on the track.
On the men’s side, there could 5 guys under 2:25 (Costen, Li, Balestrini, Raymond, Hortian), which would be pretty amazing for a 10ish person men’s field. If conditions are good I can see 2:18-2:20 for the win. Heard they’re going out hot and have a pacer to half.
Great initiative from Hortian for putting this together.

All the athletes today were INCREDIBLY tough with all those laps and the cold rain. Many gutsy performances by all, including the pacers! Amazing work to Adam and the Fast is Fun team for organizing the event and bringing a bright light to an otherwise quiet fall road racing scene in Ontario. We need more of these domestic, grassroots events to keep the competitive fire alive into 2021! Athletes getting after it on country roads is very impressive.
