What caused the growth of USports over the last 10 years? I graduated in 2010 and the following programs did not exist or where just starting out when I finished school
- Laurentian (Men) - Ryerson (Remember when Stephen Hooiser had to beg to run for them) - Brock (Track) - Algoma (Did they have a CCAA program before?) - TWU - TRU - UBCO - Lethbridge (Track) - Macewan (Did they have a CCAA program before?) - Montreal - UQAM - UQTR - Acadia - St Thomas - UNB
Did I miss any? Any other schools adding programs over the next few years?
Do you think COVID and potential budget cuts will impact any of these programs?

Hi,
I was a TRU Xc athlete last year. In March we were told without any prior notice that the team would be folding. This was due to lack of support from athletic director and no funding available.
It was pretty upsetting as most universities already closed their doors, so we were not able to transfer anywhere.

Interesting to hear about the TRU program folding.
My guess is lack of success (sorry, but hard when you don’t have a track program) and cost of travel (Minimal competitions near by). TRU does have a nice facility though.
UBCO looks to be on the rise, as they are adding indoor track.
Any coaches have any ideas on the cost to run a program??
